Description

Max came into my life as a young pup. I adopted him when he was 10 weeks old a few months after my other pup died unexpectedly. After T-bone passed I didn't take it well, but Max helped heal my broken heart.
As he's gotten older our bond has grown in ways I never thought were possible. He's not just a pup, he is very much my kid. But more than that he keeps me grounded. He's not an official service dog but he an ESA and knows when I'm need a little extra support when the MI issues are hard to handle.
My goal is to eventually get him trained and certified as a therapy dog because I know he'll be awesome at it. Max has a natural sense about what people need, and even people who are terrified of dogs fall in love with him. Watching Max play with my nephew, whose 4 now, is always amazing. The 2 of them are best buds and Max is very patient.
But the main reason I think Max is a hero is because he's literally saved my life a few times, especially in the beginning. There were times when I thought about ending it but Max was always there and would curl up onto of me, keeping me safe. Even now when the dark times come Max has a natural instinct and helps keep me grounded, leaning into me or laying on top of me so until I feel safe
