Angel is a Rhodesian Ridgeback. She was born with dermoid sinus. The white marking on her chest looks like the shape of an angel. That is how she got her name. She is so sweet and has a very gentle disposition.
In the picture she is at a Paws to Read session at the Pleasanton Library. She has been a part of numerous Read programs at schools and libraries in California. We currently visit senior assisted facilities too. Angel deserves the title of American Hero Dog because she has touched numerous people and children in all settings. She gives children confidence in reading, comfort at Hope Hospice and Camp Arroyo in Livermore. At Camp Arroyo and Camp Erin we have attended numerous camps for children with different needs and disabilities.
She is also wonderful with the students in the Easter Seals program in Dublin, CA. We will soon be visiting at George Mark Children's House a pediatric palliative care center in San Leandro.
It is so moving to see how she touches peoples lives. There aren't any Rhodesian Ridgeback therapy dogs in our area so the people she visits find her very unique and love to learn about her breed. Every year we participate in the Critter Camp at VHS where the kids learn about Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
Angel always provides comfort and puts a smile on the face of the people she visits. I love how she always looks like she doesn't want to leave.
