Zoe is a hero. Zoe seems like a regular golden retriever, fetching balls and snuggling humans. Yet Zoe's life is dedicated to helping other canines. Zoe performs heroic deeds every day as a participant in the Morris Foundation's Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. Additionally, every 5-6 weeks for the past two years, Zoe has donated a pint of blood.

As a participant in the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study, Zoe is dedicating her life to bettering the health and well-being of future canine generations. This rigorous study will span her entire life and after-life. Data collected will help ALL canines by studying genetic issues and finding cures to diseases such as cancer, hip dysplasia, skin issues, and other disorders.

As a blood donor dog, Zoe's contributions make it possible for other dogs to live. At nearly 90 pounds, her donation is used to help 2-4 dogs. This blood donation is often the difference between life and death of a treasured family member. If you've ever been on the end of a crisis situation with your canine family member, you know the importance of this gift of life. I've been there; I know.

Even dogs need blood donors. My Zoe gives regularly. She's not stressed during the visit with the vet techs, who draw her blood while providing hugs, cuddles and treats. Tail wagging, Zoe always emerges with that wonderful golden retriever smile on her face. Perhaps Zoe is your dog's hero through a donation he/she has received.

Zoe is my hero.
