Description

Popi is a Chihuahua-Jack Russell mix who was rescued by Second Chance Wildlife Rescue in Farmingville, NY in 2010. Popi was found in a hoarders house with 51 dogs, 18 cats, 2 doves and a goat. Popi has had a difficult life so far. First he ended up in Animal Care & Control of NYC's Manhattan location. Then when he thought he was safe, he went to the hoarder's house for who knows how long. On June 9, 2010, he ended up going to SCWR which ended the abuse for Popi. When Popi arrived at SCWR he had distinct signs of abuse. At some point in his life his tail and front leg were broken and neither healed correctly. His tail is crooked and he walks with a limp. I adopted Popi three months after the rescue, and I've loved him ever since. In summer 2012, Popi and I won 10,000 meals which we donated to various dog rescue's across the US. In early 2013, we had a fundraiser to provide blankets and towels for SCWR. Since, we have provided 100's of blankets and towels to the organization. In spring 2013, Popi and I started our newest fundraiser "Popi Pins", to help Parker's House, a foundation based in Huntington, NY that benefits blind and deaf dogs, with the proceeds going to them. Summer of 2013, we entered and won a contest with 1st prize being 40 dog beds, which we donated to the STAR Foundation in Middle Island NY.
