Siebert is an 11 year old Labrador retriever named after USMC Captain Todd Siebert who was killed in Action in Iraq in 2007. Siebert spent the first 8 years of his life as a Military Working Dog, working as an off leash explosives detection dog. While his past is expansive and impressive, he is continuing his good deeds as a therapy dog in many ways. Siebert visits schools, nursing homes, libraries, etc to show people the meaning of true love! He is the ambassador of a Senior Labrador Rescue that saves senior labs from kill shelters and finds them great homes. He is also the face behind an online Facebook Page called "I Support Military Working Dogs" that works hard to raise money and help Working Dogs that need emergency medical care through direct donations to the veterinarians caring for the dogs, as well as spreading the word of how amazing Military Working Dogs are. Siebert is also the inspiration behind a program that fosters out Labrador puppies out for 1 year, then trains and places them with Disabled Veterans rated 100% for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to help them get their lives back! To add to his amazing resume, Siebert is owned by a Disabled Veteran and each and every day he helps his owner have the confidence to get out and live life to the fullest! There are several categories in this contest that Siebert would fit in, but "Therapy Dog" fits him to a tee!
