Parker started as a model and actor, appearing in print ads and commercials. His training and mellow personality made him an ideal candidate for therapy work with Pet Partners. Parker provides a gentle nuzzle, a soft touch, and a non-judgmental presence to those who need it. He also uses his broad repertoire of tricks to provide an additional distraction during treatments that create fear or pain. He visits Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Oregon Health Sciences University, Kaiser Westside Medical Center, and Kaiser Radiation Oncology Center. Because of cancer patients he’s met and his own two-legged dad, he works to raise cancer awareness. He participates in cancer walks on the west coast wearing a vest carrying over 2,000 names of people and animals that have battled cancer. He also volunteers for the Read to the Dogs program at the Beaverton City Library, and actively recruits people who might be interested in becoming part of a therapy team.

His therapy work isn't limited to hospitals and libraries. Parker spreads hope wherever he goes. In 2013 Parker played Sandy in a Forest Grove production of ANNIE. But his role became more than just playing Annie’s lovable mutt. He provided comfort to the cast, the crew, and to the parents of two little girls (one of whom was cast as an orphan in the show) after they were killed in a hit and run.

Parker’s instinct is to simply love. He is a hero to his family and to the countless lives he touches.
